We are an old fashioned, Independent, Fundamental, King James Bible believing Christ centered church. Old Paths Baptist Church is sent out of Calvary Baptist Church in Sulphur, LA where Steve Avera is Pastor. The first service was held at OLD PATHS BAPTIST CHURCH on February 9, 2014. The message that is preached and the Sunday School lessons that are taught are from the King James Bible. The music and the singing are the traditional songs of the church; as we believe there is a problem with new age music taking the BLOOD out, and it is the most important part of salvation. We reject the new age movement. We emphasize the need of people being saved and living a Godly life. We are a church with a mission to reach as many souls for Christ as possible before our time on this earth is done. Our name Old Paths comes from Jeremiah 6:16a in the Bible. “Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls.”

 

 

Greg Mangum is the Pastor of Old Paths Baptist Church. He is a 2007 graduate of Southeast Lauderdale High School, a 2009 graduate of Meridian Community College, and a 2010 graduate of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary Music Ministry Certificate Program. He also received his Associate Degree in Bible from Southeastern Baptist College in Laurel, MS in 2012. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Bible from Faith Bible Institute in 2018. Bro. Greg has served several churches in Mississippi as Music Minister and Youth Pastor, before feeling led to serve as a Pastor and Church Planter. He is married to Brittney Ivy Mangum of Quitman who is a Reporter for the Clarke County Tribune Newspaper. Bro. Greg serves as a Family Service Counselor for Webb & Stephens Funeral Homes. He is also the owner of Mangum Insurance Agency in Quitman. He and his wife and their son Kamryn live in the small town of Stonewall where Greg serves as an Alderman.
